Travis Meadows experienced losing his brother, his parents divorcing, and battling cancer all before the age of 14. As an adult, he’s battled with depression and alcohol/drug abuse. But even with the struggle and loss, his story is one of faith, music, survival, and freedom.
He followed his dreams of writing songs and moved to Nashville in 2004. He found success amidst his alcoholism, accumulating eight Top 20 singles in Christian music, as well as cuts by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wynonna, and Jake Owen.
In 2010, Meadows began the road to rehab: re-entering 4 times in 4 years. Finally in 2010, he left as a changed man. The journal he kept became his story of survival and eventually, an album titled, "Killin’ Uncle Buzzy.” A story and revival; chalk full of raw emotion and truth, it began to gain attention from artists such as Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Randy Houser and many others who wanted to cut the songs that bled from that story.
Now, six years sober, Travis Meadows embodies the lyrics of one of his songs co-writen with Steve Moakler, “I’m a Riser, I’m a get up off the ground don’t run and hider….” With every purchase of this ring, you will be donating 10% to MusiCares, a charity here in Nashville that provides help to musicians in need.
